Two Mustangs Selected for NCAA Regional Career in Sports Forum
Senior swimmer Gloria Benefield and sophomore golfer Giovanna Ascolani were recently selected to participate in the April 13-15 NCAA Regional Career in Sports Forum, an initiative for student-athletes to learn and explore skills that will assist in the transition to a career in sports.

Titchenal and Pon Earn Big West Conference Scholar-Athlete Honors
For their combined excellence both in the classroom and on the court during the 2011-12 academic year, Cal Poly men’s basketball senior guard Matt Titchenal and Mustang volleyball senior outside hitter Molly Pon were unveiled as the athletics department’s 2012 Big West Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year selections on Thursday morning.

Mustangs Give Back to Community During Holiday Season
Cal Poly athletes took time out from finals week on Wednesday afternoon to make a special delivery for the San Luis Obispo County community as Block P, the department’s student-athlete advisory committee, donated two truckloads of toys, clothes and other special gifts for the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program.

Cal Poly to Induct Four Athletes, One Coach into Athletics Hall of Fame
Five different sports will be represented as Cal Poly will induct five new members -- four athletes and a coach -- to the Cal Poly Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday night. The quartet of athletes -- football wide receiver Mike Amos, three-time wrestling All-American wrestler Ken Bos, men’s soccer star Clay Harty and boxer Pete Godinez, Sr. -- along with former Mustang women’s volleyball coach Mike Wilton will be formally inducted at Embassy Suites in San Luis Obispo.
