April 18, 2012 | Football Scrimmage, Coaches Clinic, Spring Game on Tap for Cal Poly Football Cal Poly's final scrimmage of the 2012 Spring Camp prior to the Green and Gold Spring Game will be held Saturday afternoon in conjunction with a coaches clinic. Practice on the "I" Field, located behind Mott Gym and adjacent to the tennis courts and outdoor track, begins at 3 p.m., with the scrimmage to start at about 4:30 p.m.

February 8, 2012 | Football Quintet of Mustang Football Players Land on Great West All-Academic Team Five Cal Poly football players have been named to the Great West Conference All-Academic Team for the 2011 season. Seniors Brandon Roberts, Matt Sullivan and Keaton Taylor were honored as was one junior, Kyle Mohamed, and one sophomore, placekicker James Langford. Roberts is a forestry and natural resources major while Sullivan majors in agricultural business. Both Taylor and Mohamed are construction management majors.

December 4, 2011 | Football Romanelli Named Most Valuable Football Player for 2011 Season Senior fullback Jake Romanelli, who became the 14th player in Cal Poly football history to reach the 1,000-yard mark in rushing for a single season, has been named Cal Poly's most valuable football player for the 2011 season. The award was presented at the Mustangs' football banquet held Sunday at the South County Regional Center in Arroyo Grande.
November 30, 2011 | Football Romanelli Leads Six Mustangs Honored by College Sports Madness College Sports Madness has honored six Cal Poly football players on its 2011 All-Great West Conference Team. Senior fullback Jake Romanelli, the 14th Mustang to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season, was named offensive player of the year.
November 23, 2011 | Football Cal Poly Lands Seven on All-Great West Football First Team Selected by Media Cal Poly landed seven football players on the 2011 Great West Conference first team as selected by the media. Senior fullback Jake Romanelli was the lone unanimous selection on the 18 ballots submitted by writers, television and radio broadcasters as well as sports information directors.
November 22, 2011 | Football Four Cal Poly Football Players Earn All-Great West First-Team Honors Although Cal Poly earned a share of the 2011 Great West Conference football championship, only four Mustang players were accorded first-team all-conference honors. In sharp contrast, a total of 15 players from UC Davis and Southern Utah, which shared last place with 1-3 records, were voted onto the first team by the conference’s five head coaches. Six Aggies and nine Thunderbirds were honored.
November 21, 2011 | Football Cal Poly Football Completes Difficult 2011 Slate with Another Winning Record In 2011, Cal Poly played a pair of FBS teams, five FCS squads that were in the national polls at one time or another this season and another team that won its first 19 games and is on a fast track to the FBS. Nevertheless, head coach Tim Walsh and his Mustangs somehow managed to overcome the difficult schedule as well as numerous injuries, putting together Cal Poly’s eighth winning season in the last nine years by finishing with a 6-5 mark and capturing the school’s fourth Great West Conference title in the eight-year history of the league.
November 20, 2011 | Football Cal Poly Clinches Winning Season in Finale, Defeats South Alabama 41-10 Cal Poly converted two South Alabama turnovers into touchdowns, senior fullback Jake Romanelli surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in rushing for the season, junior slotback Deonte Williams scored twice and sophomore placekicker James Langford broke a school record for field goals made in a season as the Mustangs wrapped up their eighth winning season in the last nine years Saturday with a 41-10 victory over the host Jaguars in Ladd-Peebles Stadium, home of the Senior Bowl.

Washington Cal Poly (5-4, 3-1 Great West), which completed Great West Conference play last week with a 24-17 loss at UC Davis, snapping a four-game winning streak, closes out the 2011 campaign with a pair of non-conference contests, hosting defending NCAA Football Championship Subdivision national champion Eastern Washington (4-5, 4-3 Big Sky) on Saturday night in Alex G. November 5, 2011 | Football Four-Game Cal Poly Winning Streak Snapped as UC Davis Earns 24-17 Victory Colton Silveria ran for two touchdowns and Randy Wright passed for another, all in the first half, as UC Davis built a 21-3 advantage and held on for a 24-17 victory over Cal Poly in a Great West Conference football game and the eighth edition of the Battle for the Golden Horseshoe on Saturday afternoon at Aggie Stadium.
November 4, 2011 | Football Cal Poly Football Plays Final Great West Game Saturday Afternoon at UC Davis Cal Poly (5-3, 3-0 Great West), which has won each of its three Great West Conference games by a total of 11 points and has had to come from behind for all three victories, plays its final Great West Conference game Saturday afternoon against UC Davis (2-6, 0-2 Great West) in Aggie Stadium (10,849). The Mustangs will be playing an Ivy League school for the first time while the Bulldogs will be making their third trip to California in the 137-year history of the Yale football program, following trips to the University of San Diego in 1999 and 2005.

Mustang head football coach Tim Walsh and director of athletics Don Oberhelman announced Tuesday that Cal Poly will play Nevada on Sept. 10, 2016. Cal Poly also will play its first game ever against a Pacific-10 Conference school in 2015, visiting Arizona State at Sun Devil Stadium on Sept. 19, 2015.
