February 11, 2012 | Wrestling Cal Poly Wrestling Splits Pair of Matches in NWCA National Duals Following a 34-6 loss to No. 10 Missouri in the opening round of the NWCA National Duals on Saturday afternoon, the Cal Poly wrestling team defeated host Rutgers 24-22 in the match that determined fifth and sixth place.
February 10, 2012 | Wrestling Cal Poly Wrestling to Compete in NWCA Cliff Keen National Duals Cal Poly is among 24 teams -- six in each of four regionals -- that will vie for the NWCA Cliff Keen National Duals championship Saturday and Sunday. Coach Brendan Buckley’s Mustangs travel to New Brunswick, N.J., to compete against Missouri, Kent State, Minnesota, Michigan and host Rutgers on Saturday.

February 3, 2012 | Wrestling Cal Poly Falls to Utah Valley, 19-17, in Non-Conference Dual Wrestling Meet Cal Poly won three of the final four bouts, but couldn’t overcome a 16-7 deficit and fell 19-17 to Utah Valley in a non-conference dual wrestling meet Friday night at Stanford. Ryan DesRoches and Atticus Disney won by decision while Ryan Smith earned a major decision for the Mustangs, who fell to 5-6 on the year. Utah Valley improved to 4-7.
January 27, 2012 | Wrestling Cal Poly Wrestling Wraps Up Home Dual Meet Slate With 26-11 Victory Cal Poly’s four seniors entered their last home dual meet Friday night with 311 career victories. The quartet now own 315 wins as Mustangs. Ryan DesRoches, Ryan Smith, Kelan Bragg and Boris Novachkov all earned victories to lead Cal Poly to a 26-11 victory over Arizona State in a Pac-12 dual meet Friday night before 1,017 inside Mott Gym.
January 26, 2012 | Wrestling Cal Poly Wrestling to Host Arizona State for Final Home Dual Meet of Season Cal Poly will honor its four seniors prior to Friday night’s final home dual meet of the 2011-12 wrestling season against Arizona State inside Mott Gym. The quartet of seniors -- 141-pounder Boris Novachkov, 174-pounder Ryan DesRoches, 197-pounder Ryan Smith and 285-pounder Kelan Bragg -- will be honored at 6:50 p.m., 10 minutes prior to the start of the Pac-12 dual meet. The foursome has combined for 311 victories in their four-year Mustang careers.

December 3, 2011 | Wrestling DesRoches Captures 174-Pound Title in Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational Cal Poly senior Ryan DesRoches captured the 174-pound championship with a pair of overtime decisions Saturday at the 2011 Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. Mustang 141-pounder Boris Novachkov and 285-pounder Atticus Disney both placed fifth.

November 4, 2011 | Wrestling Buckley Era Begins as Cal Poly Wrestlers Compete in Roadrunner Open Cal Poly begins its first wrestling season under new head coach Brendan Buckley on Saturday by competing in the inaugural Roadrunner Open hosted by Cal State Bakersfield at the Icardo Center. The Mustangs will send as many as 22 wrestlers, including 10 redshirts, to the single-day meet which begins at 9 a.m. The championship finals are slated to start at 4 or 5 p.m.
October 14, 2011 | Wrestling Practice Begins for 2011-12 Cal Poly Wrestling Team First-year Cal Poly wrestling coach Brendan Buckley feels his three seniors will be the key to a successful 2011-12 campaign.
