Three Cal Poly women’s soccer players earned all-conference accolades when the Big West Conference announced the honors Tuesday afternoon. Junior Cici Kobinski was selected to the first team while freshman Sara Lancaster and senior Tiffany Gummow earned honorable mention honors.

A goal in the 66th minute of play led the Mustangs to a 2-0 win over Cal State Northridge in a Big West Conference game on Friday in Northridge. With the win Cal Poly improves to 8-5-1 overall and 2-1-0 in conference play while CSUN falls to 3-7-2 and 1-1-1 in BWC games.

The Long Beach women’s soccer team held a 2-0 lead at the half and added four more goals in the final period to defeat the Mustangs 6-0 in a Big West Conference soccer game on Sunday at Alex G. Spanos Stadium. With the loss Cal Poly falls to 7-5-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play while LBSU improves to 9-3-1 and 2-0 in Big West games.

Senior midfielder Tiffany Gummow’s lob shot from 30 feet away settled into the back of the net and gave Cal Poly a Big West Conference-opening 2-1 double-overtime victory over Cal State Fullerton on Friday night in Alex G. Spanos Stadium.

Mustangs Fall to Fresno State in Overtime
A Fresno State goal near the end of the first overtime period sent the Mustangs to their fourth defeat of the season (6-4-1) while Fresno State improves to 5-3-2. Fresno State’s Lauren Lindstrom picked up a rebound off a Brooke Gauvin save and placed it the net for the game winner. For Lindstrom it was her second goal of the season.

Mustangs Play No. 9 Pepperdine to Draw
The Cal Poly women’s soccer team played the No. 9 team in the nation, Pepperdine, to a 1-1 draw after two overtime periods. The Mustangs surrendered a late goal to allow Pepperdine to tie the game and neither team was able to score in the overtime periods.

Mustangs Win Third Straight, Defeat Nevada 4-1
The Cal Poly women’s soccer team used three second half goals to pull away from the Nevada Wolf Pack and win 4-1 in a non-conference soccer game on Friday at Alex G. Spanos Stadium. With the win the Mustangs improve to 6-3 and will return to the field on Sunday at 1 pm when they take on No. 9 Pepperdine at Spanos Stadium. Nevada falls to 1-7 on the year.

The Cal Poly women’s soccer team made it a clean sweep for the weekend as the Mustangs shut out the Boise State Broncos 3-0 in a non-conference soccer game in Portland, OR on Sunday behind two goals by Mustang senior Tiffany Gummow.

Cal Poly defeated Seattle, 2-1, one week after SU defeated the No. 8 team in the nation (Portland), in the first round of play at the Portland State Tournament. With the win the Mustangs improve 4-3-0 while Seattle falls to 4-3.
