Cal Poly Men’s Tennis Welcomes Pacific on Sunday

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — After getting its first home win of the season last weekend, the Cal Poly men's tennis team will look to make it two in a row when it hosts Pacific this weekend.

The Mustangs (2-5) will welcome in the Tigers (1-6) to Mustang Tennis Complex on Sunday at 2 p.m. following the Cal Poly women's tennis match prior to it.

Cal Poly is coming off splitting a pair of matches last weekend at home. The Mustangs fell to undefeated Pepperdine on Saturday before coming back and beating Loyola Marymount 4-3 on Saturday.

Cal Poly has been led in singles so far this season by sophomore Gary Vardanyan. Vardanyan is a team-best 4-2 playing from primarily the No. 4 position.

In doubles, Vardanyan has teamed with freshman Fernando Fonseca at the No. 2 spot. Together, they have a team-best record of 5-2 so far this season.

Following Sunday's match, the Mustangs will go on the road March 6 & 7 to Colorado where they take on the University of Denver and Lamar University.
